authorization of payment card transactions (front office), administration of databases, national and international
switching, clearing and processing of payment card transactions (back office), acquiring and issuing turn key
3D Secure solutions for e-commerce services Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode.
ROMCARD Processing Centre has more than ten-year experience in the cards operation field and the entire system has
been built in compliance with international standards and based on certificates received from MasterCard, VISA,
American Express, JCB, and Diners Club card associations.
After they had become members of VISA INTERNATIONAL, five of the most important Romanian banks - Romanian Commercial
Bank (BCR), Romanian Foreign Trade Bank, Romanian Bank for Development, Agriculture Bank and "Ion Tiriac" Bank -
founded, at the beginning of 1994, the ROMCARD Company with the view of running it as a card processing centre
(third party) on behalf of them.
Consequence of changes in the banking market, the ROMCARD's present shareholders are Romanian Commercial Bank,
Romanian Bank for Development, Raiffeisen Bank, "Ion Tiriac" Bank and Financiara SA.
The shareholder banks mentioned here above have established ROMCARD as a company capable of offering the whole
range of services in the card processing field to all the banks that were willing to process their cards through
its agency.
Drawing on our unrivalled experience in providing services related to card transaction security, we are able to
extend our services to areas other than banking, as well.
